It looks as though the engines have been in and out a few times since it snowed. I wonder if it was 'business' or just 'pleasure'. The actual station is about the same size as some of the fire stations near to where I live. However over the years several of them have essentially closed down in rationalisation exercises.

This one was scheduled to be torn down, but the firemen loved it so much, they got together and came up with a redesign that was less expensive than a new station, so the city manager went for it, and old No. 1 was saved.

That is a handsome building. I can't imagine anyone wanting to demolish it.
