Of course I want it in very good working order and the glass must be pristine. Thank you. Hope someone out there can locate one for me or point me in the right direction, i.e. not Evil Bay. ;D

Hi stars59,
Nice to hear from you. Don't know your location (you should beef up your profile!), but if you are in the US or Canada you are in with a better chance of getting one for a reasonable price. Here in UK the prices for anything with the Mamiya name on are extortionate, whereas we often see posts from the US where somebody has picked one up for what seems a very reasonable price. Don't think we were targetted as a major market by Mamiya, so consequently there aren't too many around.
Regards - John

Hello stars59: I collect Mamiya (35mm) and have a couple of nice Mamiya-6 folders, too. I come across a lot of Mamiya "stuff" in my travels. I'll keep my eyes open. ----- just curious...why rule out evilBay? You have to be a careful buyer, but I have found some nice cameras there...far more than the occasional clunker I get (for which I am usually responsible, for not reading the listing properly...or not not questioning it).

Thanks Ron, I've been looking for a while. I have a Kowa 6 MM with 85mm lens, 55mm, and 150mm lens. I bought it new many years ago and frankly, have used it maybe half a dozen times. It is in pristine shape. The problem it is just Too Big. The shots are really very nice and I would like to use it more but I'm hoping a smaller folder will suit me better. I now use two 35mm Retinas that I dearly love. Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled , hope you come across something soon. Tony

Forgot to mention that I have had very good success with Evil Bay on two occasions but I prefer to deal with members of forums that I read and post in.

I am getting an Iskra 6x6 ( shipped today ) from Fedka. I decided since I wasn't having much luck with the Mamiya 6 and several other 6x6's that I would try this russian camera. Can hardly wait to get it and run a test roll through it.I have seen some great photos with this camera, hope to do as well.

Iskra has a great lens but mechanically they can be flaky. A broken film counter is almost a given. That's why so many have had a ruby window added in the back.

ISKRA arrived yesterday (28th) and looks to be in Good condition as advertised. Everything seems to be in working order. Will run film through it today and tomorrow. Am very pleased, compared to the Kowa 6MM I have this is way more portable and easier to use. Will keep you guys posted on progress of this transaction.

Ran a roll of Provia 400 through the Iskra and got the slides back and found that the flimsy back had allowed light to leak in a ruined most of the shots. There were other issues so I decided to send it back to Yuri for refund. I will keep looking for 6x6 replacement but until I fins something lighter the Kowa 6 MM will have to do. Thanks again for all messages.

We have a Mamiya 6 folder which we picked up on e-bay for about £50 a couple of years ago. The slow speeds were sticking a bit but with use are ok now. The results from the camera are excellent.
One word of caution; I read an article by a well known vintage camera repairer in which he said that the only vintage camera he had ever dismantled that he couldn't get back together was a Mamiya 6.

This is a really of thread so perhaps the OP has gotten something else he likes. If not, I would suggest looking at some of the Weltas that constantly pop up on the 'bay. They are good performers if in good condition.
