Not sure if there are any other members from Scotland here, athough there are many from the UK. I'm of Irish descent, if that means anything (have traced my family back to the first one to arrive in America...in Virginia in 1635).

Matt,
There was someone posting from Scotland (Edinburgh, I think) a few months back but he seems to have disappeared.
Welcome from Wirral.
Absolutely no Scottish in our family. Hadrian's Wall did its job!
Dave.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I guess I better start showing off my collection right? That's why we're all here after all! Here is an overview of 99% of my collection, one 110mm and one compact 35mm are not on the shelf. Top shelf: Ihagee Exa 1a Beier Beirette Kodak Brownie 127 Kodak Brownie II Movie Camera Second shelf: Fujifilm Finepix S602Z Nikon F-601 Nikon EM Praktica B100 Third shelf: Polaroid Land Camera Sun 360 Polaroid 1000 Hanimex 110F Auto-Grip (flip cover removed) Nikon F-301 Fourth shelf: Braun Trend Zoom 105 Fuzzy Logic Olympus XA 2 Bell+Howell BF-705 Praktica T100 Olympus i200 Canon Ixus II The top shelf is my favourite of course, the Brownie II being my favourite of the bunch and I'm desperate to get some film and a projector! I actually have what appears to be a used super-8 film and I'm gagging to know what's on it. I managed to collect all but one of these cameras in one go. I'm not particularly interested in the bottom shelf cameras apart from the Olympus XA 2 and the Canon Ixus II so if anyone wants one of the bottom shelf ones let me know although shipping to the US might a be pain. Virtual prize for whoever guesses closest to how much all these cameras cost me.

Matt,
You have a great start for your collection.
You may find it impossible to get 8mm film for the movie camera and more than impossible to have it processed. Movie cameras are not high on the list of most collectors and, consequently, may be easy to buy at reasonable prices.
Do not discount your bottom shelf. There are some nice cameras there and film and processing is still available for them.
Have fun.

Mickey I've looked into 8mm film and it appears that it may still be possible, perhaps not cheaply but possible regardless. I have found the website linked below who claim to be able to process and mount to a DVD disc. www.bluecinetech.co.uk/categories.php?cat=81

Hi Matt .... Welcome to the group. Re the cine film, The Widescreen Centre www.widescreen-centre.co.uk/ is also a source of cine film and, I think, processing.

Matt, Not sure where you are in Scotland, but you ought to look up the great Matt Laver in Edinburgh if you're interested in photography. One of the very best in the business today. www.mattlaver.comHe was eleted a Royal Society fellowship in his 20's... near impossible feat.
