I have to admit, I'm a bit of a car nut, particularly for old British and German makes an models. I passed my test in 2009 and after driving my dads rather bland Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 I got my own car, a 21 year old Volkswagen Polo 1.3 and I love it. I'm quite proud to be able to say that my first car was/is a VW. This particular car is the "Ranger" model, only 2, 000 Ranger models were made and they were for the UK market only - There is approximately 163 left on the road with a further 68 marked as SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification), in other words not on the road but not scrapped. What car(s) do you own? Owned anything special before?

Matt, I see you have the number plates "set up" so when those nasty speed cameras get you they aren't able to record your number. (Yes, I know you've just blanked them out for the photos.) Dave.

I saw a Willys Jeep more recently than I saw a new one like that. Matt, I see you have the number plates "set up" so when those nasty speed cameras get you they aren't able to record your number. Hi Matt ! Welcome to the forum ! Your Polo is in good shape, great colour :-). I am also currently driving a red VW, mine is a Bora TDI. My first car was a Citroen 2CV and the second one a modified VW Beetle from 1973. Here is my third car, a Suzuki LJ80 from 1979: My grandfather drove something special in the early 1930`s, an Austro Daimler: MIK

Hi Matt! Welcome to the forum! I haven't had much time to get on here lately, but that's soon to change That's a nice looking little Polo you've got there. I don't think they were ever sold here in the States. Didn't they make a GTI model? My first car was a 1960 Oldsmobile 98. It was a big old boat ;D There may be a photo of it somewhere, I think my brother has one. Now we have a Buick. I've heard that the average age of a Buick LeSabre owner is "recently deceased" Doug

Still got a few bits of rust to cover up for the winter but it's getting awfully cold now so it's not really pleasant to do now. Unfortunately I had a small accident in my car today involving my left-front wheel and a brick. That's a hell of a first car, haven't seen one for a while actually although I'll probably end up buying one for a laugh one day. I do plan on buying a Beetle, probably earlier than '73 though. I feel that the later the Beetle the uglier, particularly from the back. That's a nice looking little Polo you've got there. I don't think they were ever sold here in the States. The average age of the car I have must be similar, there is loads of VERY low mileage ones coming up for sale. I've seen two this year that had less than 8, 000 miles on them.

Hi again Matt! You're right, the GTI was a Golf. The Polo I was thinking of is the Polo Mk2 GT. With a turbo, very tasty ;D Doug
