Hi Bob, The first picture looks very colourful, it reminds me somehow of Las Vegas Decorations like this are becomming more and more here in Europe, but I guess the elicrtricity costs are to high. Here is a picture from an Austrian Christmas market: MIK

British houses seem to vary from those that don't seem to recognise it's Christmas to Chevvy Chase's Lampoon.
What also seems true is that the more 'ordinary' the house, the more likely it is to emulate Blackpool illuminations.
