Happy new year. I'm not on here as often as I could be due to circumstances beyond my control. Who is this uncontrollable misfit calle "Circumstances"? He is always interfering with peoples' plans. Mickey

I admit I have been lax in my duties and obligations these past months.
Arthritis and diabetic neuropathy and doctors have been interfering with me far too often. I have not bought a camera in almost two years and my Pentax K5 camera is weeping because of lack of sufficient attention. I now have acquired a third leg - a cane. I purposely bought the ugliest one I could find as an inducement to get rid of it ASAP. But it is taking far too long. Walking hurts.
My daily protocol still remains the same. After shower and shave comes: check the computer for weather (Canadians are obsessed with weather), check and thoroughly peruse The Camera Collector and respond but I do try to keep it brief as you can see. Then I read and dispose of dispose-worthy email and save responses to good stuff for later.
Next comes; take myriad of pills, check blood sugar and take necessary insulin injections. Make and consume breakfast while reading newspaper or junk mail and flyers or cereal box hyperbole or the wallpaper.
The rest is more or, now, less than what every near normal person does daily, interrupted by frequent naps. I got rid of the TV about 15 years ago (my emancipation) and only listen to three radio stations - CBC whose news reports I do not trust but it does carry some truly excellent programmes, an all Jazz station and an all classical station. The latter two are life savers. I also write lots of letters for causes that are important to me.
But I am still hanging around here with the C.C. family.
Mickey Still HERE!

Yep, I'm still here too. so much to do. I've been writing my first novel 'Luck - Hand-Job Secrets'. I've finished the story and I'm proof reading it now, getting any loose ends tidied up and the date lines straightened. It's a hard job. Then I'm going to add details and little side stories to it to get a better feel of my main character. And when I've finished that I'm going to print off a few copies and get it reviewed by friends. And when I've done that and corrected any errors that folk point out... I dunno.
If anyone is interested in a review copy, I can email one as a pdf, mobi, epub or in any e-book format.
PM me and let me know. Thanks!!
PS. A 'Hand-Job' is an industry slang word for a hand printed photograph. It also may have another meaning in the context of the story!

It's been a rough year and a half for me health-wise. First came a complete rebuild of a shoulder resulting from an injury sustained many years ago when I was still a badge-carrier. Just as I was about to be released to resume normal activities, I wound up in the hospital for a totally unexpected quintuple bypass! During this time, I have been unable to lift much more than a little point and shoot, or my phone. Now, however, I have progressed to the point where I am now able to take walks, and use my K-7. No complaints--just happy to be here! :-)

Interesting.
Those who take part in this thread are all growing old and decrepit together. Just like a family.
