The four birds in my photos are resident: most of our garden birds are. Living near an estuary we do get a large number of migrant birds - both summer and winter visitors.

A Killdeer doing it's broken wing act to draw an intruder away from its nest. A Robin who came back before spring.

I don't we have the kildeer here, Wirral, as anything other than an occasional visitor though other plovers are fairly common. The bird that used to be common and was most seen doing the 'broken wing' routine was the skylark. Alas, changing farming methods and housing estates have robbed it of habitat and that too is now a rare sight. Estuary birds, however, seem to have increased apace. I must get out and photograph them sometime.
