Magic823, Interesting you mention Mark Hama. On another site someone recommended him so I sent off a question to him. Never received a reply of any sort from him and that was a couple months ago. Ron Head Kalamazoo, MI Answered and worked quick for me. markhama.com is his website. Steve

All this talk of MF and Yashica's etc inspired me to buy a few rolls of Fujicolor NHG11 (800 ASA) and go out this weekend on a date with this lovely lady (the camera). Problem is with MF I find is I don't have MF scanner. I have done some scanning in the past from prints - one I am really fond of, this picture of Dot my sweeheart. The local Camera store does high res scans which I will try with these new negs. Luke

Luke,
Say hello to Dot for us!
Looking at the camera, can't make out the model - is it a Yashicamat? Looks very similar to a 'D' that I recently bought. The Yashica lettering is different though, and there is more chrome on the front of mine (speed & shutter dials, lens surrounds). Also mine doesn't have the lightmeter.
Regards - John

I believe it's a Yashica Mat 124G unless my poor old eyes deceive me. Nice photo of a classy lady.

Thanks John, I said Hi to Dot for you - she didn't know I'd posted her picture (!) weirdcollector, it is the 124G - now that I look at the picture it is not too easy to see. My lightmeter doesn't work anymore which is why it's off to you- know- who for you- know- what. Mark Hama may even have built this one when he worked for Yashica. I am looking for a Zeiss Ikon Ikonta at present and have been checking Evil-Bay. I enjoy the hunt...

I started in High school with a "G" and then a year or so back I had an LM, sold it and bought a G sold it and got to wanting another so I found my old high school photo teacher and asked whatever happened to the G. he wen to a cabinet, pulled it out and gave it to me. He said I was the last to use it before the school closed our lab. They gave it to him and he had it from 74-2005
