Hi All! I had given my FinePix S5200 to my daughter after I purchased a new camera (GE X500). I love the little GE, but really missed the FinePix, I took some great photos with that one! She came over yesterday and gave it back to me , says it doesn't have enough megapixels for her! Isn't it nice that most kids today have to have the newest and "Best" things on the market? Doug

Doug, I've mentioned before that my original digital camera, a Panasonic DMC-FZ1, had just 2 megapixels, but a good zoom lens and took very nice photos. Megapixels aren't everything.

I still have a FinePix S6500fd ( just a little bit newer model than yours, I guess ). It's my all time favorite digital camera and I took the best pictures with it. Those older sensors had a bigger latitude than the new ones, even just 6 MP ... but who needs more ? But I think, for most people, other things are more important nowadays. A digital camera of today must be "multimedia". HD movies, a lot of gimmicks like HDR, WiFi, etc. and instant upload to FB or YouTube. The pictures quality didn't improve so much during the last years, I think, but those features have been added. I personally like the typical "Fuji colors" of those cameras. Simply fantastic ... but not everyones liking maybe Asakusa Samba Carnival by bokuwanihongasuki, on Flickr

My first digital camera was a Fujifilm FinePix 3800. 3mp's.
It took excellent pictures and I agree with berndt about the lovely colours.
But the abominable shutter lag drove me to sell it within a short time.
