I just got a Mamiya C330 & I have 2 questions. I do not see anything on the distance scale window when the bellows is retracted. It looks as if there is a silver "guard" just under the window. The scale is there. The other question involves the 180mm F4.5 lens. After struggling to get this lens on, I cannot advance the film. It seems as if the lever right net to the lens does not want to move. Can it be bent since the lens is so big?
Thank you,
Craig

Craig I never used that particular body with any lens except the 80mm and the distance scale never worked. I do not know what to tell you about the 180 as mine works fine on my other body

Sorry to answer this so late, but I recently obtained a C330. It sounds to me like the sliding distance mark (the silver guard you mentioned) has become stuck somehow in the window. This small piece slides in the opposite direction to the scale as the bellows are extended, with the red mark showing the distance the camera is focused on. When the bellows are fully extended, the piece covers the whole distance scale window. Ihave no idea on how to fix this I am afraid.
As for your second problem, I only have the 80mm lens and therefore cannot give you any advince on this. My only suggestion is to remove the lens and try advancing with a different lens, such as the 80mm. Have you tried cocking the shutter manually and then advancing the film?
Hope this helps.

Craig,
I vaguely remember that there were two versions of the 180mm lens. I think there might be a problem with the shutter cocking interlock when using an older lens on the later C330. Has your 180mm lens got a chrome barrel? If so it's an older version.
I had a look in my copy of "The Mamiya Book" and it warns, with the 180mm lens, "Be careful when mounting this lens, that the spring-loaded shutter cocking connector does not jam against the body's cocking lever on the C33, C330 and C330f."
