The XA is better (at least consistently better) than the XA2. I had both and the XA2 images were definately inferior to those of the XA.

Re: XA2 I was initially disappointed in my XA2 when I first got it. Results were unsatisfactory to say the least. A set of new seals cured the light leaks, and experimenting with the film-speed setting finally tamed the little camera, and it has produced excellent results since. It turned out that my example was underexposing about a stop and a half. Shooting ASA (ISO) 400 film with the camera set at 160 works a treat. I've never used an XA, but I am happy with my XA2. It did take some determination, and advice from folks here, to whip it into shape, but I'm glad I spent the time. Take a look at this thread for a few results: cameracollector.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=frills&thread=5792&page=1#39246Play around with it some before you give up on it Roy PS If you want to use flash, don't bother with anything but the more powerful A16 flash. The others just don't have enough pop!

About the Oly cameras, take a look at www.flickr.com/photos/hanszeiss/. My favourites are the XA and the mju:3 - actually the mju:3 120 is even more versatile in the field. One small remark, though, there is always some vignetting, but it also gives a kind of authenticity to the pictures. Hans.
