Looks like it's rust that could be the problem with the shutter.

Col, Amazing photos from what appeared to be a basket case. Your camera is the Vest Pocket Kodak Model B. Its full name is on the little metal plate below the lens. The Vest Pocket Kodak preceded it. Vest Pocket Kodak Mickey

Col,
The VPK (The original) has an interesting history. They saw a lot of action in the trenches of WW I. Soldiers were not allowed to take cameras with them to the front lines. As a result of this ban thousands of soldiers took the easily pocketed VPK into battle with them. Kodak was not reluctant in advertising the VPK's unauthorized use.

I don't care what you say, Mickey, I don't think Col is a basket case. ;D
Good photos, Col. Enjoyable series.
I wonder if there is a 35mm manufacturer which could be persuaded to sell some film without the perforations.

For shame. Would you really stoop to buying unholey film? Mickey

Mickey, absolutely. I wouldn't need to use holey water in its development either.

All of Ron's sight site is impressive. I've looked at it from time to time. All I've got is several cameras and bits in a few boxes with the intent to do something with them sometime.
