Very impressive lens, and a large aperture for the focal length, have you used it before, it would be interesting to see the results.

Hi,
I've not used it before, have it only a few weeks. I could not use it more open than 5.6 due to the bright sun shine on Saturday. I will post the results as soon I have the film developed and scanned.

I seem to remember that you must be firm with the Kiev shutter, too gentle and the mechanism does not fire in the correct order, but it does not mean you have to jab at it, but make sure the pressure follows through, without stopping. It may need a bit of dummy use to check it is not grease bound etc.

I have one of the 250's too. The lens and camera combo has hurt my left hand. I hold and shoot with my left hand and wind and focus with my right. I've constructed a Salyut to M42 adaptor so I can use this beast on my Pentax or Sony. Results to follow.

After a long time I got the film with the shots with Jupiter 36B back from the lab. The lens is a wonderful lens with very short DOF when open. It's is not easy to get the image in focus, and you have to use a tripod. But this film shows me that I have a problem with the magazine or the way I mounted the magazine to the body. There are extreme light leaks fro 3 sides. Not allways that bad, but allmost on all frames of this roll. Strange is that I shot allready a roll with this film back and did not have that problem. What do you think, where did the light leak in? On the slot for the dark slide? Also due to poor mounting betwenn film back and camera body? Perhaps someone can help without me starting all new thread; I have KIEV80 and just got JUPITER 36B. Lens does fit on camera but does not LOCK in fully, it stops just before it would "click" over the pin. Any idea why or how to fix it? Thanks so much, Tomo.
