A visit to the Rochester Sweeps Folk Festival yesterday, and a short look around a local High Street Bookstore, and second hand bargain and collectors shop, resulted in the purchase of another 135mm F2.8 lens, Prinzflex branded Japanese made lens, marketed by Dixons in the UK. Very much a standard design, in satin chrome finish, auto diaphragm, and manual, in quite good condition, no fungus, slight dirt on glass elements at the back. Works quite well, not the sharpest lens by any means, made by Komura I believe for Stanley Kahms and his Dixon's group in the 1970's/80's. It seems to work better at Close-ups than views. I asked the price and was so surprised I completely forgot to bargain it down from £4.00........ Prinzflex 135mm F2.8 Telephoto. With Hood and Micro 4/3 adaptor added. Test at F8 Test at F16 Close up

I really envy you guys having access to all those charity shops and the like...
The Prinzflex looks like great value for the money, it is really sharp, one could not tell the difference unless the pic is blown up. Colours are good rendered in the close up, and small details on the top of the yellow plants are visible. I tried a google picture search, and none of the lenses looked like yours. Could it be a rebranded Chinon?

Yes it could well be Chinon made, although I don't think that Stanley Kalms of Dixons used Chinon that much in earlier years, he went for cheaper makers for most lenses at first, but using Chinon for cameras a lot, and then later on he used Chinon and Cosina for lens supply.
Prinzflex was a Dixons own brand used for all photographic house branded items.
The shop is not a Charity Shop, but a Bookstore and general collectors secondhand shop, full of bottles, tins, enamel signs, telescopes and virtually anything else collectable!!
The Prinzflex 135 F2.8 seems to average about +/-£20 on Ebay, (plus postage), quite cheap anyway. The satin chrome version is far less common than the black finish.

Crop of the centre focused area, not exactly Nikon Macro, but this is a 270mm M4/3 equivalent focal length lens after all!! Stephen.

I've got the 200mm brother to that, it's a nice lens with that silver finish. ( It's up for sale at the moment, I have too many long lenses )
