Colorizing photos can be fun, and you, the artist can be creative. Gimp photo editor makes this easy, here are the few steps. 1. Get a BW photo to fiddle with, here is my boring pic: 2. Open Gimp, select the lasso tool, already selected, as you can see the button is pressed: Begin to click in the frame you will select, I began at the almost top of the house, then click the nest point as selection is chosen. The lap must end the same place as started. 3. Select menu Colors then Colorize: Here you can fiddle with the controls to desired color comes along. 4. Here the result: One can select small areas also, if to only colorize a flower or two: Probably you have a more feel for colors, and hence get more artistic results. Good luck! BTW: There are other methods, this one more easy if Gimp beginner.
