Hi All, I've been having some problems with photobucket lately. It seems that they fixed it right out of being easy to use I'd like to try some other photo sharing sites. Any suggestions? Doug

Doug,
I have been using Photobucket since I joined TCC in 2005. I have always been unhappy with it, particularly its slow loading. I have just spent the better part of a week with it and was thinking that it has improved greatly.
Lie down on the couch over there and tell me your problem. I might - might that - is be able to help.
Mickey

I've been using Photobucket for a month or so and noticed some improvement in the past few days. I uploaded 60 or so images of cameras but the process is a bit clunky. If there was an alternative, I think I would take it. David

Mickey, the image shrink? There is a site called bayimg.com, no registration, easy to use, upload etc. I uploaded a picture, here is the output (just to make sure it worked) http://bayimg.com/bANeLAaEg

Like Mickey, or perhaps at his suggestion, I've been using Photobucket since 2005. It is godawful slow. I have a slow connection and the animated advertising is first to download, then my content... They make periodic changes but I don't consider them upgrades or improvements. Aside from the bashing, I still favor them as the host for photos for forums such as this. A relatively to access choice of links allows four different types of posting. I use IMG Code.

I've got some pictures on Photobucket, but it slow, hard to navigate and the adverts drive me mad. I used Flickr for many years and loved it - until the recent changes and it's junk, slower than cold molasses and redesigned for portable devices such as iphones. As far as photgraphers go, it is dreadful. So I've transferred all my pictures to Ipernity, which is a good copy of how Flickr used to be, with some improvements. It's actually very good and intuitive to use, and there's a decent amount of storage for free. www.ipernity.com/home/294337that's a link to my Ipernity photstream, you can see from that what to expect, and easily go to their home page and sign on.

I think I've found a site that's easy for me to use. I've used this photo before, this is just a test. This is a shot of the church I attend. I'm going to keep "playing" with this new site to see how it will work out for me. Doug

I have a problem with Photobucket when I refer friends to my photos and the link doesn't work. My name online there is "biloraradix" but the name cannot be searched for some reason. Here's the link to my albums: s1279.photobucket.com/user/biloraradix/library/?sort=6&page=0Please let me know if you can see the albums.

Yes, well - the link took me to your photobucket but it's so slow that I couldn't load any page of thumbnails before it timed out, but that could be my slow internet connection as well as Photobucket being slow. But the advertising showed up instantly. It's the same when I look at my Photobucket, the ad's come up straight away and my pictures sometime later, if it doesn't time out. For a service that carries advertising to pay for itself I think it's poor, they should spend some of the revenue to provide the service they promise.

I have some apps on my Firefox that blocks all ads and tracking cookies. If you don't now, runb a search for an app to block the ads. The ads don't appear for me on Photobucket.
The site is slow, though, and even slower with my WiFi running at 54Mbs.

I have no troubles with Photobucket on speed, it is sometimes a few moments to load, and takes a few seconds to respond, and longer to clear adverts, but it is free and more straightforward than flickr. Stephen.

Just had a look myself and Photobucket loads up OK. It's not incredibly fast but not noticeably very slow. Thumbnails loaded up OK. I use Adblock Plus on Firefox and that seems to suppress the ads on Photobucket.

I tried it and had a real problem! It loaded rapidly for me and the photos appeared immediately. That's when the trouble started! I was instantly hooked by the great photos and could not leave! Many old friends there and some new ones too. Great stream! Roy BTW I also use the AdBlocker from Firefox and it helps! I like Firefox and it is my default browser
