I have a Pentax ME Super which works well with my Sirius 28 mm lens. However, when I fit that lens to my Pentax MX, I get very definite vignetting. Why with one camera and not the other? Photo attached.    |

Question answered! It is the lens hood which I have only recently bought.

I looked at the first picture after reading the text and my eye went on to the second shot and the word "hood" came in to the mind.......
Believe me, you are not alone, the vignette does not show in the viewfinder at viewing on full aperture, it only shows stopped down, and indeed varies with aperture.
A great case for square type lens hoods!
