I am still lurking. We all get older and these days I am retired and suffering through cerebellar ataxia. Not complaining, as I am retaining a fair bit of independence. I still buy the odd camera although hard on a pension. If I want to use one I have to rely on a friend to drive me to a location with suitable walking terrain. I very recently purchased a Lordomat Leica copy. Looks good. If my steroidal medication allows, I'll run a test film through it. This typing getting harder.Gotta go. Thanks for bearing with me.

Another "senior citizen" to chat with in my declining years. Are your pills as colourful as mine? Mickey

Plain white. I have been advised by doctor to halve steroid dose but my efforts result in half a tablet and a lot of white crumbs. OH WELL!

Crumbs of remaining 1/2 of 1 tablet = 1/2 tablet. Unless it is windy. Your Pharmacist can provide you with a pill splitter.

If I manage to powder half I usually throw away the powdered half and split a tablet next day. I'll check with my pharmacist for a pill splitter. I'm exclusively film these days but I might charge my digital slr battery so I can post a photo or two (camera porn). My personal photos probably interest nobody but me. Thanks Mickey. HI Stephen, I think you came along after I stopped participating. Always interesting.

I may be away myself due to a very flaky HP computer, Windows XP has developed deep problems that I cannot cure, so a S/hand more modern desktop unit with Win 7 will be bought on Monday.
The issues are with graphics showing though pages, and lock ups due, it says, "to not enough resources". All happened after updates, but restoring backwards does not improve it. Skype has to be forced to close, and anti virus AVG refuses to load etc.
In the meantime it just about works for email and browsing, but no graphics programs work, bar irfanview, and don't ask why this works but not the gimp.
It will take a couple of days to sort out the new machine and load vital programs and files. Can't do direct coupling as it is XP to win 7 which cannot easily transfer direct. Most should swap via memory cards etc. The new machine has 500mb hard drive, and is fast enough.
Stephen.

I'm down to my old Compaq Presario again. I have kidney dialysis 12 hours a week so I'm always too pooped to pop. All I wanna do is sleep. Now that I'm on siezure medicine, I have the hand shakes pretty bad, and I just turned 64. I'm not complaining...... Yes I am! It sucks to be sick. Can't walk anymore, so I only take pictures from the window of my Jeep.

Arthritis, addiction to cameras, and flaky computers......relying on a very slow netbook Acer for now...works at the speed it feels like. Not a candidate for win 10 update!!!!!!....barely runs win 7 pro. So looking forward to a fast Dell with Win 7 next week Stephen

Thinking of taking a plunge next weekend and trying two days camping Stephen All I do is email and browse and download music. Not game to try anything more complicated at present.

Not used for gaming!! ....it is used for photos processing, graphics, and storing old movies via an external drive. The netbook has a very slow processor ....it barely strolls along.

I'm still here. I was a bit concerned that I was rambling on too much about my cameras........ As I said on another thread, I am looking forward to receiving my Kershaw 630 and putting a film in that. I would like something more elaborate for 120 size film (Mamiya, Bronica, etc.)but cannot really justify it. For a laugh I have just sent off to China for a Lomography Mini Twin lens reflex construction kit at £7.99 including postage. (Appears to be the same as the Haynes Manuals one.) (I wonder if I could adapt my old Tamron 200mm to fit. If it is any good I might buy my grandson one for Christmas with a Poundland film..

I check here every day, but I'm not finding much in the way of cameras, or even doing much with those film cameras I have. Almost all my photography these days is digital.

May I join the club? My diabetes has evolved into neuropathy which leaves almost no feeling in my hands and numbness in my feet. That combined with arthritis has forced me to get a device to strap my camera to my hand. I am walking with a cane and, like my son's cat, I sleep a lot of the time because I tire easily. I have come to the conclusion that I have something I should not have or I do not have something I should have. Tomorrow I visit my family doctor. This could lead to a whole series of appointments with various specialists and clinics. I am not happy. So...... Do I qualify??? Mickey

Yes, you qualify Mickey. I have the neuropathy and an added bonus is restless leg syndrome. I should be happy to still be here though, because my doctors told me I almost died 3 times last year. As a diversion, I still have my HO Scale locomotives that I detail, that is until my hands get to shaking bad. I still collect 1/18 scale muscle cars, but they have gotten to be cost prohibitive. I haven't touched a model car since I had the heart attack May of 2014. Randy, Besides my lifelong hobby of painting (rather badly), in the past three plus years I have discovered Wet Shaving. What for most of my life I considered a rather tedious daily chore I now find to be a great pleasure and something which I look forward to every morning. As I now live alone I even redesigned my 1972 bathroom to be a kind of shave den. I even invented an electrically heated lathering bowl in conjunction with a young lady ceramic artist in Israel. She even named it after me. The Mickey Bowl. So, along with Rose, Soup, Punch, Fruit. Toilet and several others I may become world famous. Mickey
