Howdy all, I've been a pretty avid collector for several years and have not been a member of any camera forums, stumbled across this one and figured what the heck! My interest in the cameras was re-activated from my son who is a fairly active street photographer down in Brooklyn NY and shoots exclusively film.
For whatever reason, I've collected primarily 35mm SLR's (some rangefinders) that are mechanical only - if it needs a battery for anything other than a light meter I've generally stayed away. Had to draw a line somewhere! Of course there are some exceptions to the rule... Also, I try not to collect Kodak stuff as a rule, but as an ex-Kodak employee (was the development manager for Professional Digital Cameras for a while) living in Rochester NY, I have a little bit of a soft spot for them, they're easy and cheap to come by and I've been unable to resist completely. Current collection probably has ~120 35mm's and ~30 Kodaks of various vintages.
I love hunting for and finding camera bargains, and have a sister-in-law who's an avid thrift store shopper/garage saler - among other things she recently found me a minty OM1 for $4, and an F Photomic T for $5. Great fun!
Anyway, I look forward to sharing information and learning from the forum.
