I've mounted the rodenstock rodagon enlarger lens on the nikon PB-4 tilt shift bellows, to see how far it would get me in attaining sharpness across the image. Since the rodagon is an enlarger lens for medium format there's no problem with vignetting as the image circle more than covers the sensor size even at maximum tilt. Still it seems like I've bitten off more than i can chew with this set up as there are (optical) limits to what can be obtained. In the following shots I've had this N scale train as a subject, it's about 10cm long and even with maximum tilt and f16 this wasn't enoug to get everything in the plain of focus. I should have done some focus peaking to get the focus on the front but I didn't want to spend to much time at this experiment and saw it more as a proof of concept. The first shot maximum tilt to the left, second maximum tilt to the right (here the "bokeh" gets really weird).Maybe I should try a shorter focal lenght and see what happens...

The Tele arton 85mm by Rodenstock is astonisinghly short and handy especially compared to my zeiss planar with approximately the same focal length (but 4 stops faster). Both only adapted flat forward pointing to my Z-7.
