ST801 with 1.8/55mm EBC - not cheap!!
Had to really - it came so highly recommended! I like match-LEDs, and the 1/2000 speed may come in useful in high glare situations. Otherwise, I'm curious to see what I had to pay so much for!!

John, I think you'll be quite pleased with your ST801 if it's in good condition. I have the ST701 model and it's smooooooth..... like silk. The 801 should be even better. The EBC lenses are also highly regarded.

Congrats!!! A nice ST801 is a real treasure. That lens is quite good also. I think you will like the LED's and the smoothness of the camera. Do you know if it is an early model or a later model. If you can post a photo I can tell you.
Enjoy Bob

Hi Bob Not sure how much you'll be able to tell by this rather poor photo: Lenses are: Soligor 1:2.8 f=135mm /Fujinon 1:1.8 f=55mm / and a small Helios lense I'm not quite sure of (!!) The Soligor isn't bad - I've got a little set of cased Soligors. I'll reserve judgement on the Helios - got a couple on Zenits and they work OK. The light meter is a Weston Euro - usable if nothing special. Regards - John

I agree with you on the Soligor lenses....I have always liked them...most people don't care for them...but I have liked them since 1973. You are right I cannot tell anything by the photo......but here is a description:
early models--have the word FUJICA as a one piece plate on the front of the camera. later models---have the word FUJICA with each letter etched individually onto the front of the camera.
I have several models of both versions and I detect a slight quality increase in the earlier models. They seem a bit smoother and seem to be made better.
post a photo when you receive it.......and perhaps the serial #. I am considering doing a registry for the ST 801 by serial # and owner's name and where abouts, similar to what that fellow Nigel has done for the Spotmatics.
Good Luck Bob
