After the Christmas lull, people are getting some money together again, and you can see the bids starting to mount up for the lower price bracket cameras. The 'Best Offer' bids I put in were verbally accepted, but not put through on eBay. "I'll keep them going till weekend as you are paying by cheque".
I told him to stuff himself, as I never intended anything other than payment by cheque. I may just stop his dealing though, as his e-mails were done through eBay!
Regards - John

The BEST time to get anything on Ebay is during the summer months. Likewise--it's the worst time to sell anything--people have too many other things on their minds.

Regards - John Not only are prices going back up but prices on some gear that has normally been low-end has surprised me with the bids now being offered. In particular the Ricoh Singlex and Sears TLS (same camera) are bringing higher prices than previously. I suspect that being M42 mount cameras has had something to do with that. They're built like a tank and seem to be quite reliable. I'll bet that buyers will be able to find a good buy here and there this coming Sunday during Super Bowl as many people will be away from ebay during that time. Walker

I thought I was the only one noticing this. I told my wife all the things I've normally bought for under $15 are going for double and triple lately. I've even seen modest SLR's with a cheap no name zoom and a 135 lens go for nearly $100. As I add up the number I have sitting around gathering dust it makes me wonder, HMMMM. That said, I've gone on a bit of a mid winter, too cold to go outside bidding spree lately. All the better quality equipment I've bid on has gone for at least double my bid and I've broken my self imposed (read cheapskate, tighter than skin on a hot dog) $20 bidding limit to a huge extent. All the items I was mildly interested in I won, go figure. Now I have 14 cameras and 14 lens to pick up the next time I go to my US mailing address. Oh well, mostly Prakticas and cheap zooms but still plenty of fun to play with. Now if I can just find a cheap Yashica 124G or Rollieflex on Superbowl Sunday LOL.

I should have gone after my D100 a few weeks ago, too. They were bringing an average of about $50 less then. I figured I would pay a little more, however, because I wanted as close to NIB as I could get.
Hopefully it's gonna get here tomorrow!
