The typical M42 50mm f/1.8 Pancolar lens made by the former E. German Carl Zeiss Jena factory will sell in the $50~$60 range while the MC model can double that amount. I landed a single-coated model mounted on a Praktica Super TL last Saturday for $14.50. It wasn't identified in the initial ad so I figured there was a good chance it would sell cheaply. It did. The auction is at: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200105381067&rd=1&rd=1The Pancolar is quite possibly the best of the normal lenses made by the Carl Zeiss Jena factory or the rest of the East German companies. It's worth keeping an eye out for IMO. Walker

Good snipe Walker. If I'm to be outbid by someone, at least I know someone on our board also recognised the lens. Oh well, there's always the next one, LOL. P.S. I'm ramblerfixer on eBay.

JPC, if I'd known you were bidding I'd have stayed away but I do love a bargain! Walker

Hi Walker, No problem, just glad someone I know got this one. I only half heartedly bid anyway, usually if I really want something I'll snipe it too. I always say there are no friends during an eBay auction, full speed ahead damn the torpedoes, LOL. It's actually surprising how many familiar names I come across during bidding. Nice to know we share the same good taste, in Ricoh TLS too. I have my eye on another good lens in a local auction at the end of the month. How 'bout a 1957 M37 mount chrome preset 83 f1.9 Takumar ? The auction also includes a Zeiss Contina and a few trinkets. Since nobody else on the forum lives here, just gotta sneak this one by ol nikonbob, LOL. Crappy part is the auction ends the night I'm in hospital to have my knee scoped so I might be too groggy to attend.
