I have a friend in Sweden who bought a Zörk Panorama Shift Adapter together with a Mamiya 645 35mm lens on eBay. The Zörk adapter has a Minolta "A" mount on it, and he intends to rebuild this Minolta mount so he can use Mamiya XTL and ZE bayonets on it instead (my kind of guy!) ;D He knows the flange-to-film plane distance for both the XTL and ZE mounts, but needs to find out this distance for a Minolta "A" mount. He knows Camera Collector folks seem to have almost everything, so there must at least be one of you who has a Minolta with an "A" mount (Auto Focus Lenses) who can measure the flange-to-film plane distance. I know Per will be thankful for your help...so will I.

Ron was nice and asked for me this question, but as it seems the information about register distance isn't so easy to find. You can't rely on information on the net if there are several different numbers on different sites. Even a number that is the same like for the Mamiya 645 is not trustworthy. I have got another figure from Zörkendorfer himself. So now I ask anybody who has got a Maxxum camera body to measure the film plane to flange distance in real life.
Many regards Per Malare

I hope someone can help here. Per's a great camera enthusiast, and someone I like to count as a friend. I'm not able to answer his question but, with all the knowledge available in the group, surely someone can! BTW - Per, welcome to the Camera Collector. I know you have so many other commitments you were hesitating to join, but this is a really good group...and I hope you can find your answer here! bobm...thanks for your response. With all the Minolta enthusiasts in the group, Per, I'm sure someone can measure this distance on the Maxxum body for you!
