After about 40 years of taking pictures, I'm still not much of a photographer. I do have the occasional happy accident. See below. The camera is tracking a subject. The lens is nearly in focus. I press the button and it happens to be a good moment. Experimental Aviation Association "Sun-N-Fun". Lakeland, Florida USA. April, 2005. Canon F-1, 500/8 Canon FD mirror lens. ISO 400 print film.

Yes. Loops, rolls and a bunch of other stuff I don't know the names of yet. Also saw the serious stunt flyers in Pitts bi-planes and other aerobatic craft. As a non-aviator, I can't imagine how they do some of those manuevers and recover!

Was at Mountain Home AFB, not far from here, a few years ago when the Thunderbirds performed. One of the pilots did a low level loop in his F16 (too low as it turned out) and ejected just before the plane hit. Didn't have a camera with me but someone shot a photo just as the plane turned into a ball of fire, with the pilot tumbling in his ejection seat. The photo was widely circulated on the web. Pilot was OK

Neat shot. Particularly with a mirror lens...those are so hard to focus quickly!
I never thought much about flying myself (acrophobia), but I always envied those who did!

I agree with Gene; an excellent and very sharp image with brilliant colors.

Good catch especially with a mirror lens as they are pretty dim to focus with. Always loved airshows and flying except for travel.

A nice, well exposed and composed shot - I like it.

Nice picture, well taken. And nice tight formation too. I like it. Happy accident? Come off it! Too much of 40 years experience showing . PeterW
