It's a boring Saturday morning, OK Favourite mode of transport: Quite like this one too: Hate this one: 3 hour delays in both directions. Gotta love air travel. All from the same roll of Fuji Pro 400H through my XA. Thank you for humouring me

I've been in a funny mood recently I have to travel by air a lot for work, before I started doing so I used to like going away, now I really don't. But that's always the way. The station is Paddington, like most of the London stations it's a beatiful Victorian building. I can thoroughly recommend the XA, these are fantastic little cameras. Mine was quite cheap on the auction site, just had to do the light seals. A lot of people seem to complain about the vignetting at 2.8 and 4, I quite like it for effect. The lens is not very sharp at f/2.8 though - apparently the Stylus Epic is a lot better in this regard, but didn't fit the bill for me otherwise - auto focus, auto flash and no control over the exposure, no thanks.

The XA is truly a great little camera. I had the XA2--the cheaper model with zone focusing and a 3,5 lens. It was nice but not on the level of the XA. I found an XA in a thrift store. It didn't work and I fooled with it past the point of repair before discovered if I had just pulled the stuck rewind button out with a pair of pliers, it would have been operational!!!!

I think we have a few XA fans on this board The one that really interests me right now is the XA4, I quite like 28mm. They seem to be a little hard to find though.

Here's a few lucky shots I have gotten with an XA2. I say lucky, because I am not very good at judging where to put the 3-position focus lever. The exposures, however, are always spot-on. I never used any other of the XA series. I never put it on a tripod. I always put ASA 400 color fim in it. Qing Shan temple («C¤s®c), Taipei. This old temple is in one of the oldest parts of the WanHua district Taipei. In fact, it is on what they told me is the oldest street in Taipei, GuiYang street. www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=309871881&context=set-72157594353169321&size=oOne of the narrow lanes in the Gion section of Kyoto, one of the older neighborhoods of the city, where people come at night to eat and drink in the many small restaurants and bars. www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=313048916&context=set-72157594353169321&size=oGion area of Kyoto. Like most of the little restaurants in this area, this one is small but very busy. The seating consists of one row of stools along the "bar", with just enough room behind the stools to walk to and fro, in and out of the place.
