I had taken bob on a dinner train for his birthday, and part of the evening included a "fund-raising" pitch and tour of this train under restoration. Taken with a mamiya nc1000 and fuji film 100 Just a couple of shots from that evening

Ron Did you notice that Sherri's favorite camera has become the Mamiya NC-1000 . Same as yours, herr Herron. You know, ya try to bring them along correctly and point them in the right direction....as look what happens? Bob

Randy, if they ever finish restoring it, we'll try to get some more pictures of it. They only need to raise another 2 million or so, lol It was really neat to see it, though there's no engine in it at the moment. Much of it is still stripped down to the metal studwork, though one of the passenger cars is just about done. And every where I go....that hobo is still stalking me, lol!

Here's the Flying Yankee the day it was being moved from Claremont Junction, NH. The original restoration goal was one million and the Claremont-Concord shop was awarded the job. A friend works for the C&C and I was able to drop in and check progress periodically. Unfortunately not a lot of progress was made at Claremont so the project was trucked away. I hope they're able to get it running again in my lifetime! The quality of the picture isn't so hot. I think this was picture 26 on a 24 exposure roll.

Sherri, what is the location of the Flying Yankee now? I know it used to be at the Edaville Railroad near the Cranberry Bogs.

Randy
The Flying Yankee is now being restored where we saw it---The Hobo Railroad....and I think that is in Lincoln, NH. Sherri being a native of the great state of New Hampshire will correct this info. or verify it, when she comes home. ;D

Bob's right, it's at the hobo railroad station, a scenic railroad in the southern white mountains in Lincoln, NH, though when I was looking at the website moments ago, seems there's pieces of it farmed out to different railyards. I'm only interested in looking at trains, maybe riding on trains and trying to get a good picture of trains, lol...But it sounds like this poor old train has moved around more than me in the last 20 years or so. Randy, if you're interested here's the link to the website the restoration project runs www.flyingyankee.com/ I have a little more information, floating around here somewhere that they handed out the night of the tour. Tucked it away for a future scrapbook page...someplace safe....and we all know what that means!
