Just got to try out a black J12 on my Kiev. I am very pleased with the lens and can find little to complain about so far. I was never really aware of the Bokeh of a lens but the J12 shot up close and wide open is very pleasing. The OOF areas are smooth and not jarring so I assume that is Bokeh. The attached photo has been cropped for 8x10 prints and was shot on Kodak Chinese made 200 consumer print film. Not a photo of great artistic values but I think it shows what I am saying about the OOF areas. Bob

Your pup seems a little skeptical of being shot with that "ferin" gear:)

Looks like a sweet lens to me, Bob. I don't mind the word bokeh. It sounds better than saying, hey, you've got great oofa! Gene

He is a Rat Terrier and they are suspicious of almost everything.

Yeah, I think it is sweet and maybe I'll have to admit that Bokeh may exist, just never really noticed it before

Bob, the FSU lenses in general are very good optically and the J-12 is no exception. The one I have in Kiev/Contax mount required adjustment for critical focus and I accomplished that by using a spacer that set the rear element further back a few thousands of an inch. Your example appears to be spot-on for your camera and that's a nice image. The look in your puppy's eyes is great. Gene, the English speaking world has never been shy about borrowing words or making up their own when a foreign word didn't please them. Maybe you have something there with "Oofa". Walker
