hello everybody,
new in the forum, I'm looking info about the hanimex 300mm T mount if anyone has used it in a Nikon body Are they compatible? Is it really a T mount or an M42 or...whatever? Can I focus at infinity or I will need an optic adapter? any information is welcome! (I found that lens in a web site, so i can not test it and the seller say is a T mount lens) thanks

Hiya Gonzec (and welcome to the club BTW).
I''ve got a Hanimex 300mm. Mine is for a Praktica BC camera. I wouldn't bother too much about it - it isn't a particularly good lens!

thanks for your answer, but I'm really curious about using a "not so long" mirror lens , especially for the characteristic donut "bokeh" of that kind of lens, and of course the price...

Hello Gonzec
The one I'm looking at now isn't a mirror lens at all. It has a front lens and a back lens and presumably a whole bunch of lenses in between, and is approximately 300mm (12") when fully extended. I've never come across a 300mm mirror lens. They start at around 500mm usually, and lose more light, and get very expensive as they go longer.
Or do you mean you've found a 300mm mirror and are interested in introducing distortion?
Regards - John

Hi Gonzec,
You may want to consider looking for a mirror lens made in the old USSR. They are of excellent quality and generally not too expensive. They also come cased and often with filters.
While the out of focus "donuts" may appeal to you now, I think they'll quickly lose their uniqueness, much as a fisheye lens may be "interesting" but after awhile they are used less and less as the effect becomes boring. Don't forget that a mirror lens restricts you to a single f-stop which can be limiting.
Just a few things to consider.
