Alex,
If you want it and if you collect it it is not Junk. It is a desirable and valued artifact.

Alex: Few of us collect camera gear because we believe it will be of great value in the future. We collect things because WE like them. The opinions of others are really immaterial. Of course none of this applies to Leica collectors, but they always have been an odd bunch. Wayne

Mickey--Thanks for the confirmation! I always knew all this stuff wasn't "junk!" Now you've proved it ;D! Now to convince my wife Roy

They are basic, but probably decent lenses that can get the job done. Enjoy using and collecting them. One of the fascinations of collecting SLR lenses for common SLRs like Minolta is that they are seemingly infinite in number and variation.

Roy( late congrats!), I agree wit you, Mickey has spoken. We collect camera stuff because we like it. My son Peter said once when he saw a little mouse captured in a bucket: "May I keep it. Actually I'm collecting those" He was three years old and I didn't understand it then. Alex, I see, that you have a Carenar lens. Carena is a designation of a German vendor Porst for cameras just like Noris and Hapo. I mean, that it is not a manufacturer. Take a look, my misc lenses: Misc lenses .htm

Alex, my hat's off to you for cleaning your lenses. It's a delicate operation, isn't it? The Minolta 45mm is interesting to me. I have an SRT-201, with a 28, 35, and 50mm lens for it. Some of the brands you have, I've never heard of, but then there's a lot I don't know, while others here are much more knowledgeable. Enjoy your collection!

As Michael said, hat's off to you for cleaning these. I've got several lenses apart at the moment (dang goldarn Petri) and I've made parts lenses of a few zooms in my time. Not fun or easy. Cameras, especially older rangefinders and scale focus are pretty straightforward but lens assembly is an art best left to those of you with 8 less thumbs than myself. With the exception of the JC Penney 200 I believe I have all of these and enjoy each one for its own qualities. Of the group, I'd prefer the Minolta 45, Mamiya 50 then Yashica 50 best. Just the ones I would tend to use most often.
