Sometimes even an AF P&S can have charm. I bought this tidy, working Hi-Matic AF2 for the price of a burger and fries. It ain't the prettiest camera in the world, but it does have practical virtues. I like the size (remarkably similar to the original Hi Matic, just slightly shorter), manual wind & rewind, leatherette, simple & quick 2 step AF, moderately wide and moderately fast lens (38/2.8), Idiot ptoof lens cap (it covers the viewfinder too), AA batteries and quiet operation. A good cheapie for the glove box. Maybe not as elegant as an Oly XA, but it'll get the job done. The lens is reputed to be quite good and the mechanicals reliable. I'll have to wait and see. This camera makes me see the sense of P&S and AF. It really is an update of the concept behind the original Hi-Matic. Why did they have to go and ruin simple everyman (or woman) cameras with slow zooms and coffee grinder auto-winders?

Michael, two really nice looking P&S cams. I have a soft spot for cams like this.
