In keeping with the theme of my post in the above board, I'm prompted to ask the group about a simular subject. The question is: What is your newest 35mm SLR? When was it made approximatly? Please do not include Digital SLRs. My newest is my Minolta X-370, made in China 6 years ago.

Randy
my newest (meaning latest production---not newest to me) SLR is a Minolta QTsi. It was made in Malaysia approx. 5-6 years ago. I have had it about 5 years.

My newest film camera is a tossup between my Nikon F4s and my F3HP. The F4 was made about 1994 and the F3 probably a little later (They made them until the 21st century.

Probably my Canon EOS Rebel ($5 at a yard sale. Lens was defective but I use an M42 adapter). I don't really like auto everything so I buy mainly manual cameras.

My newest/youngest film SLR is my Zenit Fotosnaiper FS 122 made in 1994. Now how many of our members has a Fotosnaiper kit? I personally have 2 of them, a FS 12 and a FS 122.

The only two SLR's I own are a Nikon FM2n and Nikon F3HP. I have no idea which one is newer. Is there a Nikon timeline somewhere that you can match serial numbers against?

My Canon T90 is my newest SLR. Made in 1985 and discontinued a year later. Still going strong.

The newest film SLR that I have purchased brand spanking new was an F90x the year they came out. All others have been secondhand and older than the F90x.

The newest SLR is the Canon Eos 1000FN (Eos Rebel SII in N America), which at 1993 just pips the Yashica 270AF (1992). I use the Yashica 230AF more than either. Newest as in when I got it was today. I only know it's a Zenit - I thought it was a TTL, but the more I look at the picture, the less I think so. I wanted the Jupiter 11A that came with it. Anyone recognise it? Regards - John

My newest SLR arrived less than 8 hours ago. My wife surprised me with a FedEx package that I didn't see arrive. Inside was my second Honeywell Pentax H1a with 55mm f/2 Super-Takumar lens. Everything seems to work just fine and other than needing new seals, it's in excellent+ condition.

JOhn, what is written on the front right hand side of the body, just under the rewind knob? Does it have TTL metering or is that a selenium meter on the front of the prism? If I knew those two things I might know bettter what model it is.

1998 Canon EOS A2, bought for wedding processionals as my eyesight is making manual focus a lot slower.

Heath,
Don't know - the picture is all I have to go on. From various sites it appears that it looks most like an 'EM', but there are a couple of small discrepancies - and with the best will in the world, I can't make the lettering at the top right look like 'EM' or even 'ET', with the picture blown right up.
Have asked the seller, but have reached the conclusion that sellers never read questions asked after the end of the auction.
Regards - John

John,
The picture isn't all that clear, but it's not a Zenit TTL because the shutter release button is on top of the wind-on. Same applies to the EM, 11 and 12XP. I think it might be a black finished E. The earlier models had a different speed selector dial.
