Hope this doesn't offend anyone but I wanted to show some model airplane engines made by camera companies. Here is a Mamiya .09 glo and a pair of Zeiss Jena 1.0cc diesels.

One of the interesting things I learned about most Japanese companies is their strong sense of diversification. For instance, Mitsubishi is often thought of here as a car company. But it also makes auto, marine and industrial engines, health care items, elevators & escalators, numerical controllers, sewing equipment, motion control systems, semiconductors, vehicle navigation systems, air conditioning products, surge arrestors, microwaves, and is a major bank. Likewise, Mamiya is known here (and many other places around the world) for its medium-format film and digital cameras and lenses. But they also make fishing tackle, rods & reels, electronic measuring equipment, golf equipment, tripods, vending machines (pachinko, anyone?), and system lockers. I'm sure I've missed a whole lot of other items, too. Obviously, they are also into model airplane engines. Nice bit of diversification, if you ask me.
