1. Make certain the handbrake is on when you leave the car 2. Don't park on a hill in front of a agricultural lifter 3. Carry a camera Paul

Yup! All mine
Came back from holiday yesterday, went to work and parked the car. (Its on a farm, hence the lifter) Got out tonight and found it imbedded! I think a passing tractor vibrated it off the mark (I normally park in gear!)
Came home in the works pool car. Will have to explain myself to the insurers in the morning.

OOOWWWW. Gotta admit, all the years I drove a manual transmission car I very seldom used the emergency/parking brake. Don't tell anyone, but I still don't.

Paul, that looks like laminated glass. Have they gotten away from the glass that breaks into a million or so small pellets? I used to see piles of those bits along the roads and RAC vans that would replace broken windscreens on the spot.
Sorry for your mishap. Hope your insurer understands.

They still use tempered glass (a million pellets) in side windows, I believe. They use laminated glass in the windscreen so it won't all blow into the driver's face if something hits the glass.

Paul,
It's a good thing the beast was chained. No telling what damage it might have done.
This winter a rampant, unchained snow plow cost me almost $1000.00 and that was in a perfectly level parking lot.
