This photo of my late father-in-law was taken about 1968, probably with a Pentax H1a. The lens was a Takumar 105 f2.8 "preset" (mannual stopping down) that I borrowed from a co-worker. Still seems to be one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used. They very seldom come up for sale on Ebay. The lens was very compact. My father-in-law was a soft-spoken man who put in long days as an auto mechanic in a small service station. I shot this one day just after he arrived home from work. I consider the shot my first "creative" photo. Tri-X, developed in D-76 1:1 (About the only combination I ever use).

Wayne, this is a wonderful portrait of a man who looks to have great inner strength. Excellent in every way!

Very nice shot Wayne. Also very timeless.
I have the Soligor 105mm preset (can't remember the aperture off hand) that I have to use mor eoften. Especially if it works as well as the Tak.
