On RFF way over two years ago I signed up to participate in one of those 'pass the camera around the world' projects. One of the members donated a Canonet QL17 GIII to the cause. It was so long ago that I thought the camera had died or got lost. It started in Europe, the Netherlands I believe, and went through France, Germany, Italy, UK, then off to Singapore and points in the East, down to Australia and NZ, over to South America, then a crazy-quilt trail through the US. I'm the first contact in Canada to get it. I just finished my film and am about to send it to the next Canadian participant. Here's the camera and some of the shots I took with it (two days ago). Excellent, Gene! I had the same camera in my hands, oh at least a year ago. I like seeing what you did with it.

Michael, thanks for looking! This old camera has taken its time getting around the world, eh?

Gene,
Considering the tiring travel agenda of that camera it has stood up and performed very well, indeed.
I wonder what gems the other photographers were able to coax from it.

Gene,
Thanks.
A very impressive gallery of pictures. I wish the countries of the photographers had been included. That would have made it yet another tiny link in international co-opration.

Neat-o. I've been eyeing these on ebay lately.
Those exposures are right on, so I assume the meter has been adjusted for 1.5 volt silver batteries, vs. the 1.35 volt original mercury.
