I just couldn't see paying those prices for a ring light. A little PVC, plexiglass and LED's, and we're ready to go. I should have stopped down to f22, instead of f16. But I'll get some practice and refine the exposures.

I am very impressed. How about some specs.

I used some PVC plumbing parts to build the housing. 4" outside diamater, inside diameter to hold a 49mm filter ring, glass removed. 1.5" total depth of unit. 5- 5mm leds, super brights 5-10mm leds, super brights Aluminum foil for reflector surface AC to 9vdc adapter for power, can also use 9 vdc battery. Pic was taken at 6" with 100mm macro lens, 400ISO on the ist DS. Color leans to blue side. Auto levels pops it right into line. Anything I have not covered, just give me a holler.
