Here's my mob of new (to me) Minolta Maxxums: 7000's front and back, 5000 on the left, and 300si to the right. Sorry about the focus/sharpness, digital is getting a little wonky with age.

The day before I took the photo of the cameras, I had accidentally dropped one of my 7000's in the parking lot. I thought it was a goner, but to my amazement, and happiness ;D it's ok, just a small dent in the bottom edge of the film door. The door opens and closes, and there are no light leaks. Later that day I finished shoot the roll that was in it, and got some really great sunset shots. Here is one of the photos, I hope it's ok to put it here to show how it's still working well: Ok, my scanner stinks on toast at it's job.

The bad thing is, it does have a neck strap. I was carrying it in a plastic bag because it raining at the time, and I didn't have a camera bag it would fit in. So, the big bounce. Thank you Randy.

I have never owned a Maxxum series Minolta but my brother bought one of the first 7000's and fell in love with it. He took thousands of pictures that were first class.
About six months ago we were discussing digital vs film cameras and he said he just doesn't get the same feel for photography from the digitals that he got from his Minolta and was planning to get some film and start shoting with the Maxxum again.
I like digital because of it's ease and low cost of operation but whenever I pick up my old XE-7 or XD-11 there is a feel that I just don't get from the new stuff.

I only have one Minolta in my whole collection. But now that I'm only a few cameras shy of completing my Mamiya collection, I find myself looking around at other things again.....so, slap me, quick! I need to put the collecting bug to rest for a while!

Everyone should have an Olympus XA -- nearly the perfect carry-everywhere film cam. It's one of my favourites.

Suddenly I have the urge to Google the Olympus XA...and maybe take a look around eBay to if there's one available. I've never used one before...never really thought about one before, either. Shucks! Just when I thought Rick's chant and those chicken feathers were working.......................................................Gene!!! ;D
