Sara and Grace, our granddaughter have been trimming the tree. This little Santa ia our oldest ornament. My parents had the tiny Santa on their tree back in the 1920s and they may have got it used from their parents. It's probably pushing 100 years. I think the little face is celluloid.

Take care of him Wayne. My wife has a few from her family too. She happened to see what an antiques dealer was asking for some similar, and thought of putting them in the safe box at the bank.

I'll second Sid's comment: take care of him. It's a wonderful heirloom and I must say that I'm sometimes amazed at the things I value most in the way of family items. It's often the small and rather insignificant items that are the most valuable to me. They'll never mean as much to others but then they don't know the connection as I do.

That's pretty cool, Wayne...from two fronts. (1) you have a special family heirloom ornament like that, and (2) you're already trimming your tree! Our earliest ornament is from our first Christmas together after we were married...in 1970. My wife had the presence of mind to put the date on a few of the simple glass bulbs we could afford, with some white glue and glitter. The color of the bulbs has faded a lot, but the glittery "1970" is still perfect, and reminds us of our start together. They're the ornaments that get special treatment when we pack them away. Thanks for sharing yours!
