from Bob was a kodak easyshare digital camera...my first one. I have to confess I like the immediate gratification, lol. It has already come in handy a couple of times when I needed a certain picture or 2 for a scrapbook layout challenge...I really didn't want to waste film on or take the time waiting for pictures of my snow shovel or assorted hand lotions and creams, lol I've really had fun chasing all the cats around the house with it and although several are "good enough" I really like this one This is Basil, my favorite of the 8 cats. This wasn't the shot I had lined up, but by the time the camera did it's autofocus stuff she moved....and I loved what I got. Sherri

Yep. That's the problem with digital P&Ss when stalking cats or kids. By the time the shutter fires they often are in another room or county.
Congrats. You'll have a lot of fun with the camera.

Sherri,
That's a beauty. The picture and the cat.
Try holding the shutter half way down before taking the picture. That should minimize - not eliminate - shutter lag. Also shutting off the red eye reduction should reduce the lag. You can always remove red eye in the computer.
