Wayne,
Wonderful shots. I am sure this old house is far more interesting than the hill full of million dollar mansions. It seems to have been a large house, quite spread out. Possibly the original ranch bungalow. Oh what stories it could tell.

Now those are photos (pictures??) right up my alley. I've always thought old abandoned farm buildings were almost heart wrenching when you sit and think of the family histories involved. Great work Wayne, keep them coming, you just might make a digital convert outta me yet, LOL.

Thanks for posting those pictures, Wayne. I love looking at old abandoned buildings and machinery. They've got sort of fascination for me, as has almost anything that was once cherished but is now neglected and forlorn. It's probably the reason I love restoring things and have done since I was a boy. Mostly cameras nowadays, but at one time I was into restoring almost anything especially mechanical things like cars, clocks, sewing machines and so on. I had a reasonably well equipped small workshop and got a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from doing it. I also built models, but liked restoring, as distinct from just repairing, better. I used to write features about them for various magazines, which paid for materials, tools and so on. I usually sold the cars, but when I got too many small restored things to store I often gave them away to a good home or to one of the small museums - but not the cameras . Don't do so much now, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak! PeterW

An interesting aspect of the house is that I'm sure it already was abandoned back when I was a kid. But as the interior shots show, it apparently once had running water and hot water. An argument with my mate is responsible for the photos. I've driven by the place a number of times--thought about stopping to take photos but driven on. A few weeks ago were were going somewhere and I was driving Sara's car and she was complaining about the way I was driving. So I said "OK, from now on when we go some place in your car YOU can drive!" So on Sunday Sara was driving when we went by the pasture and I said something about taking photos and she said "Let's stop. We're not in a hurry to get anywhere." So she pulled off and I spent 15 minutes shooting pictures. The most productive agrument we'ver ever had.
