Just playing around last night, trying to take pictures of my son reading the newspaper on our deck. Mounted a 55mm f/1.8 thread-mount Auto Mamiya lens (from one of my 1000 DTL's) on my Canon 300D digital. All the settings were manual (there is no connection to the lens through the adapter that mounts it to the EOS mount) and the ISO setting was 100. It was getting dark, as the sun had just set ... and I was trying to see if I could hand-hold at 1/15 sec at f/5.6. Brightened slightly in Photoshop, I was delighted with the result.

Looks like a very sharp lens!

Nice result, Ron! I love using old glass on digital bodies. With me it's a pile of manual Nikkors.

The lens/camera comb did do a very nice job. I am even more impressed with the composition of the photo!!
I see the cane, but sure hope the son is coming along a lot better Mr. Ron.

He still takes pain medication every day (six years after the accident), and needs the cane to get around. But his spirits are good, and that's worth a lot.
Thanks.

That's a nice shot Ron! Nice to know there's still use for that old glass in these modern digital times.
Was there any change in the focal length of the lens when you mount it onto a DSLR?
