I was wanting to know if a Sigma mini-zoom with a Nikon F mount that I have could be used with my N90s. I know that I will only be able to use Aperture priority, and Manual with it, and CW or Spot metering. The reason I'm asking is that it has the "ears" with holes on it, and I'm wondering if they will hit the prism housing? Also would this lens be an AI, AI-S, or converted AI. I put up a photo of the mount if it helps. Thank you for any help I get, Ed

Ed
If you are worried about the ears hitting the prism housing you should be able to remove them as they are usually held on by two small screws. The ears are pretty much redundant now unless you are/plan to use the lens on older Fs and F2s having meter heads that are non ai coupling. The difference between what an ai and ais lens looks like always escapes me. I think it is at least ai as it has the ridge to couple with the metering tab on the N90s.

Good grief Bob,
If you're really worried about the ears hitting the prism housing you should:
a) Wear a hat
b) Stop shaking your head so hard

ps - I know, it's only a matter of time...

Er Ah, I think it was Ed who had the worries about the ears. Me, I usually don't worry since I found a hat that fits and stopped shaking my head. It must be tea time somewhere. I would put a smilely in here but being PC illiterate, well you know.
Regards - Bob
