I was out of the camera buying for a while, because I had gastric bypass surgery on 1-12-09, but I got a few lately. Here is one of them, a Minolta Maxxum 3000i. I cannot wait to try this one out. Opinions are appreciated! Pics:

I have one of these. It came with a Minolta 28-135 lens. Only used it once but it's a slick combination.

Very cool Alex, I have a Maxxum 400 si that I got from eBay for $1 because the "door" was broken. When it arrived it was the battery door and I had another Maxxum a neighbour gave me when it died so I combined the battery door and lens from the junker with the $1 400si. Now my 400si sports the same lens as yours, the AF 35-80 f4-5.6. Gonna try it this weekend (I hope).

I just brought home a 3000i with a Tokina 28-70 lens and the D314i flash. I also still have the 28-100 lens from my wife's broken Maxxum 5. I was a bit nervous because the battery was dead in the antique mall, but I took a chance for $30 since there was no obvious signs of abuse. I was relieved when I got home and dropped a fresh battery in and everything powered up.
Kurt or Alex, is that a built in lens cover on your Minolta lens?

Hi Ron, Yes, that is a built in lens cap. The sliding button to open it can be seen on the right but best in Alex's first photo.
