Ran into a problem this morning while trying to do some shooting with my ME Super and a Viv/Kiron 75-150 close focus f3.8 lens. It was immediately apparent that the lens/body combo was not metering correctly. Moving the aperture ring made no difference in the meter reading. Dismounted the lens, and checked the movement of the blades manually. All appeared normal. Checked the movement of the linkage in the body and once again all appeared normal. Mounted the lens again, this time paying attention to the aperture setting on the lens while mounting it. Lens at f22. Took a reading on the sky, and it appeared pretty close. Opened the ring slowly while watching the meter, and it reacted normally, until somewhere around 5.6, when there was a loud click, and the meter snapped to the fully closed reading and never moved again. Repeated the process, and the same thing happened. Tried the lens on every other K-mount body I own, and it worked normally. Tried a plethora of other K-mount lenses on the ME Super, and every thing was normal. Mounted the Viv back on the Me Super, and the same thing again. I can see no obvious differences in the linkages, but that Viv ain't compatible with that ME Super! I don't recall if I have ever tried that particular combo before. Anyone else experienced anything like this? Roy

New one on me Roy but...two things spring to mind 1. is it PK, PK/A or Ricoh or Chinon K mount and 2. With the lens sitting filter side down on a tabletop alongside another lens, is the height of the linkages from the mount up the same? I even had one lens with the linkage bent about 5 degrees from 90 so only slightly perceptible and it wouldn't meter at all till I straightened it.

It is a PK mount. Measured the linkage, and it is the same on all my lenses, at least as close as I can tell by eye. I did find a tiny spot of wear on the Viv's linkage right where it contacts the cam in the body. Perhaps it is skidding over the cam on the ME Super and not the other bodies, one of which is an ME, three P3n's and the rest are Ricohs. It looks straight.

Interesting ..... I have a Chinon CP-X Program. The only of my K mount lenses it's meter will couple with are Pentax-M brand lenses. It won't couple with a Pentax-A or a Cosina PKA or a Tamron PK Adaptall-2.
However the cam in the camera is noticeably shorter than that of my Pentax Super A.

OK !! I quit! For the life of me, I can't see anything that would cause this! But it's getting WORSE! Now it "snaps over" as soon as I open it off f22 I'm not messing with it any more for fear of totally breaking something. I just won't use that combination until the camera receives a pro CLA. The lens has already been done. All other combos work just fine. Wa-da-**ll's goin' on here? Ol(scratchin' my head!)Roy PS: It works fine with the 2X Matched Multiplier, too!!!
