I know I have a ton of old/falling down things, but here are a few digital snapshots from a nearby town forest. This was once a fairly prosperous dairy farm that ended up being seized for back taxes back in the 1930's. As you can see, all that's pretty much left are the old foundation stones to the farmhouse (and barn behind it), miles of stone walls that run through forest that was once pasture and scattered remnants of cars, furnishings, and other odd items. Most everything dissappears under all the underbrush in the spring and summer, but things start to appear once again as autumn settles in. Bittersweet has pretty much wrapped itself around many of the items found near the house....this old metal pitcher... and this old enameled dishpan. There are also bits and pieces of old cars, farm tools and even an old iron bed spring leaning against a tree. Every time I go there I find something new to wonder over. Hopefully I can dig through some of my photos and see what other neat things I've found out in the woods.
