Good evening,
I am a new member in this forum, my place of residence is in Vienna / Austria. Please forgive me, if there are any grammar mistakes or wrong words may be used ( i am no native speaker ). So lets see how far i can get with school-english.
I am collecting cameras for appoximately over 30 years ( since my childhood ) and to now on, the collection has grown up to about 2.000 items of photographic history. Cameras of all kind of negative-sizes, forms and dimensions, such as Boxes, Plate-Cameras, Twin-Lenses, Reflexes, Viewfinders, Stereos, Subminitures, Aerial-Cameras and so on. The whole range you can imagine between Agfa and Zeiss. Also vintage Movie-Cameras, Filmprojectors, Stereo-Viewers, antique Slide-Projectors and a couple of Magic Lanterns. And not forgotten, the accessories like Lightmeters, Rangefinders Flashes, Filters...
My current project is the question: How to open a Agfa Selecta-m from 1962 ? I bought one in near mint condition at a flea-market ( for the price of a warm soup in the local restaurant ) some weeks ago, including case and flashlight. This is the Agfa- "heavy weigt champion" camera ( about one kg ). It s similar to the Iloca Electric, no, it is probably the Iloca disguised in a Agfa-Optima housing. This camera looks so simple and innocent, but i think this is a complicated and tricky one. The first camera in my life i could not manage to open. I ve tried any position of the film-rewinding crank ( in-out, left-right , half in-out...), but now i quit.
It seems to me that this camera does not like me...
Is there anyone out there who can give me an advice ?
Greetings from Vienna,
Mik
