Think I finally got my Oly XA2 tamed. Backed the film speed setting off another 1/2 stop, and finally got consistent results across an entire roll. Shot a roll of 400 Fuji Superia at 160, had it souped with a standard processing. Here's a few of the shots. Please take a look, and tell me what you think. "Yeah, this is my Jeep! Ya gotta problem wid' 'dat?" This dog had "attitude" written all over him! ;D Thanks for looking Roy

Exposure looks fine, Roy. Well within the latitude of Superia.
I like pictures 2 and 3, and the seats on the left bank of 3 intrigue me. Are they for watching some river event?
I like picture 1 but there seems to be a slight blue cast. If you've got Photoshop, do a save as and try Image -> adjustments -> color balance. Make sure 'Preserve Luminosity' is ticked, choose midtones and take the yellow/blue slider over towards yellow a little. About -20 to -24 in the box at the top ought to make the grass look more spring-like. You could also try this on pictures 2 and 3, but slightly less, about -18 to -20.
I often find playing with color balance and/or hue/saturation gives a better result on scenic pictures than using Levels. It helps to add 'sparkle', particularly on pictures taken on overcast days or in the shade when blue seems to predominate.
Other image editing programs have similar tools. Try it and see what you think.

Great shots Roy. I like the bridge and the creek. Very crisp.

Randy and Peter: Thanks for looking and for the nice comments. Peter, the little amphitheater is used to present various events for the community, usually by players from the University near-by. It is part of the Bidwell Park here in Chico. These shots were taken about 100 yds or so from the Bidwell Mansion (seen in a previous thread). Here's another shot of the amphitheater which shows the stage area better. First outdoor theater I've ever seen with a year-round creek running between the audience and the players. Might possibly be a boon to players who present a less than stellar performance! ;D Roy

Thanks for the explanation, Roy. That looks an ideal place to sit and watch a play on warm summer day - hey, that's almost poetry! I like the composition of this shot better than the previous one. I like the repeated curves of the wall, the water and the pathway on the other side, all framed by the tree trunks. Very attractive. PeterW

Thank you Peter. I didn't post this one in the first place because I have a tendency to clutter up my foregrounds. Glad you liked it. Roy

That's a sharp lens, glad you got the exposure on the mark. Nice composition with the bridge!

Thanks, Julio. Appreciate you taking a look.
Took Peter's advice and pulled a little of the blue out, and the pix do look better.
Figured I had used enough bandwidth already, so didn't post the results. Roy
