A Sad Day. Today we had to put down our 13 year old Husky Sasha. Back legs were just about useless and she was hurting. She was a good, loyal friend, loved and loved us.... and indeed, a large part of our lives. RIP Sasha....you wil be missed. Bob

Sad news Bob, my heart goes out to you. We lost our Siberian Husky 13 years ago with the same hip dysplasia and it wasn't easy. Took a year before we got another dog and now he's showing bad signs of dysplasia too.

Bob
Our condolences go out to you and your family. We have been through that a couple of times ourselves and know that awful feeling too well.

Thank you all for your kind words. As all of you know, it is never easy when it comes to a loss of a pet. And for me, as I imagine for all of you folks too, from the day you take the dog or cat into your home....you know this day is coming....and it is always in the back of the mind. But we will remember the good times and the joy after the pain lessens,

My sympathies to you and your family. Last summer we had to put our dog down when we learned that he had several tumors. It was hardest on the kids because they had grown up with him. I thought they would want to grieve for a while before getting another dog, but they really missed having a dog around. A 3 year old Alaskan Malamute needed a home right after, so we took her in. She can't replace Rex, but she has become part of the family.

Bob:
Even though we know our pets will only be with us a few years, it doesn't make it any easier. They play such important roles in our lives. Sorry for your loss.

Bob, I am very sorry for your loss. I have no pet, but I can imagine the pain losing a comrade.
