Hi ! Today I went along the river Danube to give my new Macro 85/3,5, which I bought yesterday a try. Suddenly I heard an unexpected engine noise from the river. Quickly changed the Macro to the 300mm lens and took a picture of Austrias unique gunboat, which I thought it had been wrecked years ago. Austrias “Navy” had only two ships: This one and a smaller patrol boat. Both had been discharged in 2006. 27 years ago, while serving the Army I had the pleasure to take a trip on this boat. Jumped in my car just to see where it will land. A few miles away was a gathering of historic boats, where I took the other pictures. It is good to see that some private persons are keeping this boat alive. Even if it has the dimensions of your battleships lifeboats MIK

That is a pale shadow of what the Imperial Austrian Navy was around WWI. Like you I like to see people try to preserve some history.
